Our first kit – the LNWR D1 single plank open wagon – has nearly sold out, with only two left in stock. When these are sold we may not make any more, or if we do there will be a considerable delay whilst we work on new kits, so if you want one please speak now, or forever hold thy peace.

The latest (July 2004) Railway Modeller contains a four page article by GRS on their Gauge 3 products. Including eight photographs, this is a good introduction to Gauge 3 today and is well worth a read by anyone contemplating a change to Gauge 3.

Two live steam models currently for sale are: A coal fired Britannia on e-bay with an asking price of £2,200, and a freelance 4-6-2 which will be auctioned by Mellors & Kirk in Nottingham on 1st July, their estimate being £1,000 – £1,500.

The company we used for lost-wax brass castings has closed down. Because of this there may be a temporary supply problem with a few castings, and a (hopefully very) small price rise across the whole range when current stocks have been exhausted and new castings are made.

Our Private Owner coal wagon is making progress and all the patterns have now been completed. Laser cut components for the brake gear should be completed during the coming week (over 750 separate small pieces of steel!), so we are on target for a summer launch. POW sides have agreed to make suitable transfers available from their 7mm range, but we need a minimum order to make this cost effective, so we will take that further when the kit is on the market.

All of the parts from this kit will be available separately and may be suitable for upgrading older models. This will include sprung buffers and detailed proper working brake gear.
